This one uses eight electrodes — four in the base and four in the retractable handle — so the reading passes through your arms and torso as well.

Do I have to use the app?
The handle display shows your key figures on its own. The app is what stores your history and draws the charts, so you will want it if you care about tracking change over time.
Why does my body fat reading move day to day?
Bioelectrical impedance is sensitive to hydration, recent meals and time of day. Weigh in at a consistent time, ideally mornings, and judge the trend across weeks rather than comparing two consecutive days.
How many people can use it?
