The LK11 tells you why your check engine light is on: plug it into the OBD2 port under the dash and it reads the fault code, no app or phone needed. It also clears codes, shows freeze frame data and readiness status, and suits DIYers who'd rather know what's wrong before they ring the mechanic.

You're halfway to work and the check engine light comes on. At the next stop, plug the LK11 into the OBD2 port and read the code. Now you know whether it's worth booking the car in today or whether it can wait, and you've got the code to give the mechanic.

The main menu has read codes, erase codes, view freeze frame and I/M readiness. Up and down arrows, OK and Exit move you through it, and the menus show in plain text.
The LK11 reads stored trouble codes so you know which system has flagged a problem. Once it's fixed, erase the codes to turn the light off. Clearing a code doesn't fix the fault, and the light comes back if the problem's still there.

Codes follow the standard OBD2 format, starting with P, C, B or U. The built-in DTC lookup helps you work out what each one points to.
When a code is set, the car records what the engine was doing. The LK11 shows it: engine speed, vehicle speed, engine load, fuel pressure, fuel trim and coolant temperature. Knowing whether it happened at idle or at highway speed narrows things down.

The I/M readiness screen shows which emissions self-tests are complete, handy after a battery change or repair. It also reads the VIN, calibration ID and CVN, and shows live data like coolant temperature and speed.
The maker says it supports the standard OBD2 protocols, including KWP2000, ISO9141 and J1850, and lists US cars from 1996, European from 2002 and Asian from 2008. Look for the 16-pin OBD2 port before you order. Menus come in English and nine other languages.
