Nourished Bodynskin NBS-1

The neck is the part everyone forgets.

Most LED masks stop at the jawline. This one comes with a second silicone panel that wraps the neck and décolleté, driven by the same remote, running the same seven colours at the same time.

The NBS-1 face and neck panels with box, remote, cable and eye shields

Two panels, one remote — the face mask and the neck piece run together.

What it is, plainly

This is a cosmetic light device for at-home use. It shines coloured LED light onto the skin for a set number of minutes. It is not a medical device, it is not a treatment, and we are not going to tell you what it will do to your face — that is between you, your skin and your own judgement.

What we can tell you precisely is what the hardware is, because that is where these devices actually differ from one another.

The Light

684 LEDs, which is a lot for this price.

Chart of the seven colours, wavelengths and LED count

Seven colours, 684 LEDs across 228 bulbs, irradiance around 35 mW/cm².

228 bulbs, three LEDs in each

The total comes from packing three emitters into every bulb rather than one. Spread across a face panel and a neck panel, that is a dense, even field of light rather than a scattering of bright points with gaps between them.

Irradiance of about 35 mW/cm²

This is the figure most listings leave out and the one worth comparing between devices. Irradiance is how much light actually lands on the skin. A mask advertising a big LED count with no published irradiance is telling you something by its silence.

Seven colours, named by the manufacturer

Red at 630 nm, green at 525, blue at 415, cyan at 480–490, yellow at 570–590, purple at 390–410 and white across 390–780. The mode names in the spec table — Anti-Aging, Purifying, Calming and so on — are the manufacturer's labels for each setting. They describe which light you have selected, not an outcome we are promising.

No near-infrared on this model

Worth being direct about, because the other mask we stock has it. The NBS-1 runs the visible colours only. If near-infrared is specifically what you are after, the NBS-4 pairs 850 nm with all seven colours — but it covers the face alone, with no neck panel.

The Neck Panel

A separate piece, not a longer mask.

The face and neck panels worn in profile

The neck panel wraps the throat and extends down over the décolleté.

It has its own strap and its own cable

The neck piece is a distinct panel that fastens around the throat and spreads down across the upper chest. It plugs into the same remote as the face mask, so both run together on one setting and one timer.

You can use it on its own

Nothing requires both panels at once. If you only want the neck, wear just the neck. Some people alternate, some run both every time.

Silicone, so you can lie down in it

Both panels are flexible medical-grade silicone rather than moulded hard plastic. They follow the shape of a face and a throat instead of bridging across them, and you can lie back on a pillow while wearing them — something a rigid shell mask makes impossible.

Your Eyes

Use the eye shields. Every time.

This is the part of the page we would rather you read than skip, so it has a section to itself instead of a line in the specifications.

Two silicone shields are included

They sit over closed eyes beneath the mask. Bright LED light at close range is uncomfortable to look into and there is no reason to find out how uncomfortable. Keep your eyes closed behind them for the whole session.

If light sensitivity is a thing for you, ask first

Some medications and some conditions cause photosensitivity — an unusual reaction to light. Certain acne medications are a well-known example. If that applies to you, or if you are pregnant, have a skin condition under treatment, or are simply unsure, speak to your doctor or dermatologist before using it. We are a retailer and cannot advise on that.

Not a medical device. This is a cosmetic appliance for home use. It is not intended to diagnose or manage any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional advice.

Using It

Four steps, and the order matters.

Four-step guide to using the face and neck mask

Clean skin, both panels on, choose colour and time, serum afterwards.

1Start clean and dryMakeup, sunscreen and heavy creams sit between the light and your skin. A hydrating serum underneath is fine if you prefer.
2Both panels, then connectStrap the face mask and the neck piece, position the eye shields, then plug both cables into the remote and set colour, level and time.
3Moisturise afterwardsMost people follow the session with whatever serum or moisturiser they already use. The device replaces nothing in your routine.

Fifteen to twenty minutes

That is the session length the manufacturer sets, and the remote counts it down. Longer is not better — the timer exists for a reason and there is nothing to gain from overriding it.

In The Box

What actually turns up.

Everything included in the box

Eight items, including both panels and all three straps.

  • LED face mask, medical-grade silicone
  • LED neck mask, medical-grade silicone
  • 2 × adjustable face mask straps
  • 1 × neck mask adjustable strap
  • Rechargeable remote control with display
  • USB-C to USB-A charging cable
  • 2 × silicone eye shields (one pair)
  • User manual

One remote, two cables

Each panel has its own lead and both plug into the same handheld remote, which charges over the supplied USB-C cable. There is no wall plug in the box, so you will use a phone charger or a USB port you already own.

Straight Talk

Who this suits — and who should skip it.

Consider it ifYou want the neck and décolleté covered as well as the face, and you care about the specification — 684 emitters and a published irradiance figure rather than a vague LED count. It also makes a good gift, arriving as a complete kit in a presentation box rather than a bare device.
Skip it ifNear-infrared is what you came for — this model does not have it, and the NBS-4 does. Also skip it if you are expecting a specific result by a specific date, or shopping for a treatment for a diagnosed skin condition: that is a conversation for a dermatologist, not a retailer.

Why there are no results claims on this page

You will find other sellers making confident statements about what LED light will do to your skin. We have deliberately not repeated any of them, because we cannot substantiate them and because a cosmetic device advertised with health claims is a different legal animal in Australia. You get the specification, the practical detail and nothing we cannot stand behind.

Questions

What parents ask before buying.

Is this a medical device?

No. It is a cosmetic appliance for home use. It is not intended to diagnose, treat or manage any condition, and nothing on this page should be read as a health claim. If you want light therapy for a diagnosed skin condition, speak to a dermatologist.

What is the difference between this and the NBS-4 face mask?

Two things. This one, the NBS-1, has 684 LEDs across 228 bulbs and includes a separate neck panel, but runs visible colours only. The NBS-4 has 456 LEDs across 114 bulbs and pairs 850 nm near-infrared with every colour, but covers the face alone. Neck coverage on one, near-infrared on the other — your call which matters more.

Can I use the neck panel by itself?

Yes. The two panels are separate pieces with their own straps and their own leads. Wear either on its own or both together — the remote drives whatever is plugged in.

Do I have to use the eye shields?

Yes, and keep your eyes closed as well. Two silicone shields are supplied. Looking directly into bright LEDs at close range is uncomfortable and there is no benefit to doing it.

How long is a session and how often?

The manufacturer sets 15 to 20 minutes per session, timed on the remote. Frequency is a personal decision and the manual covers the manufacturer's guidance. Running it longer than the timer allows achieves nothing.

Does it need to be plugged into the wall?

No. The handheld remote powers both panels and recharges over the supplied USB-C cable. There is no wall plug in the box, so you will use a USB charger you already have.

Is there any reason I should not use it?

Talk to your doctor first if you are photosensitive, taking medication that causes photosensitivity (some acne medications do), pregnant, or have a skin condition currently under treatment. We are a retailer and genuinely cannot give you advice on that.

What is delivery, and what if it arrives faulty?

Delivery is free and tracked anywhere in Australia. You have 30 days to return it. If it turns up faulty we cover the return freight and sort it out — send us a photo and we will take it from there.
