Most coffee tables are a rectangle on four legs. This one has no corners to walk into and no legs to kick — which, in a room people actually move through, matters more than it sounds.

The asymmetric top

The surface is an irregular oval rather than a true ellipse, so it reads as something shaped rather than something stamped out. Set against a straight-edged sofa it softens the whole arrangement, and it gives you a generous centre for trays, books and glasses without the overhang that catches shins.

A rock surface, not a laminate

Sintered stone: dense, non-porous and far more forgiving than timber or marble about the things coffee tables actually endure. Hot mugs, wet glasses, a spilled red — it wipes. The veining runs through with real depth rather than sitting on top as a printed film.

The base does the work

An S-curved spherical steel base carries the top from the centre, so the floor stays clear. Practically, that means a rug sits flat underneath and a robot vacuum has a clear run. Visually, it keeps a heavy stone top from making the room feel crowded.

It is weighted to sit steady — a centre-base table lives or dies on whether it rocks, and this one does not.

Assembly

The base bolts together and the top sits onto it. Tools and instructions are included, and it is a twenty-minute job — but the top is heavy, so have a second pair of hands for that part.

Common questions

Why 3 to 4 weeks?

We bring it in to order rather than warehousing it. That is the trade for the price — if you need a coffee table this week, this is not the one.

Will it mark?

Sintered stone is non-porous, so it does not absorb spills the way marble does. Wipe it with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and cutting directly on it.

Does the base wobble on carpet?

It is a weighted centre base designed to sit flat. On deep pile it will settle in — press it down firmly once in place rather than leaving it perched.

Is it hard to put together?

No — the base bolts together and the top lowers on. Tools included. Two people for the top, purely because of the weight.
