SOUNDPEATS Air6 HS Wireless Earbuds — Semi-In-Ear, LDAC Hi-Res Audio, Bluetooth 6.0, 45-Hour Battery
Delivery & Returns
Earbuds you forget you are wearing. The Air6 HS sits in the bowl of your ear rather than plugging the canal, so there is no seal, no pressure and none of that blocked-up feeling an hour in. Each bud is 4.0 grams. You still hear the room — the doorbell, the announcement, the person who just said your name.
It is the sound that makes it worth the money. A 13mm triple-magnet driver, Bluetooth 6.0, and LDAC for people whose phones support it. Nine hours in an ear, forty-five with the case in your pocket.
Semi-in-ear. Here is what that actually means.
A normal earbud wedges a silicone tip into your ear canal and seals it. That seal is what gives you deep bass and quiet — and it is also what gives you the ache, the pressure change when you swallow, and the feeling of being cut off from the room.
The Air6 HS does not do that. It rests in the concha, the bowl just outside the canal. Nothing is pushed in and nothing is sealed, which is why it stays comfortable through a working day and why there are no ear tips to lose or to size.

The honest trade-off
No seal means less isolation and a lighter bottom end than a sealed tip at the same price. On a train or a plane you will hear more of what is around you. Walking, cooking, at a desk, on a run or in an office, that is the point rather than the problem — and the tuning leans into the bass to make up the difference, which is why these do not sound thin the way open-ear clips usually do.

Nothing to lose and nothing to size
No silicone tips means no small parts rolling under the couch and no guessing between S, M and L. It also means the buds wipe clean in a second, which anyone who has peeled a grubby tip off an in-ear will appreciate.
Who these suit
Yes, if you wear earbuds for hours
Desk work, long calls, the commute, cooking, walking the dog, a run. Anywhere comfort over four hours matters more than isolation for one.
Yes, if sealed tips hurt you
Plenty of people simply cannot tolerate something wedged in the canal. This is the format built for that, and it is a far better-sounding answer than the open-ear clips usually recommended.
Yes, if you need to hear what is around you
Cycling, running near traffic, a shift where you have to hear a colleague or a bell. Awareness is the default rather than a transparency mode you switch on.
No, if you want quiet
Flights, open-plan offices, a noisy train every day. Without a seal and without ANC, these will not give you that. Said once more because it is the single thing people get wrong about this category.
Please read this before you buy
These do not have active noise cancelling. You will see the words "noise cancelling" in the specifications and on the box. That refers to ENC, which cleans up the microphone so the person on the other end of a call hears less of your traffic and wind. It does nothing to what you hear. There is no ANC here, and a bud that does not seal your ear has nothing to cancel against.
If what you want is silence on a flight or in an open-plan office, a sealed in-ear with ANC is the right buy instead. Ask us and we will point you at one — we would rather do that than take your money for the wrong thing.
The battery number depends on which codec you use
The headline 9 hours is on AAC, which is what most phones default to. SOUNDPEATS' own figures are 9 hours on AAC, 8 on SBC and 5 hours on LDAC — the Hi-Res mode moves roughly three times the data, and the battery pays for it. The 45-hour total is the buds plus four more charges from the case. Ten minutes in the case gives you about three hours back.

LDAC is an Android feature
LDAC is Sony's codec and it is built into Android. iPhones do not support it — an iPhone will connect over AAC and sound very good, but the Hi-Res part of this listing will not apply to you. On Android you turn it on under Bluetooth, then the earbuds' settings, then Audio codec.
What the 13mm driver is doing
13mm is large for an earbud — most of this class run 10 to 12mm. A bigger diaphragm moves more air, which is how a bud with no seal still produces bass you can feel. Three magnets drive the coil instead of one, so it controls the diaphragm more tightly and holds together at volume instead of smearing.

It is Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified, and over LDAC it carries up to 990kbps against the 328kbps of the standard SBC codec. Whether you hear the difference depends on your ears, your files and your phone — but on a good recording the extra detail is there to find.

Five colours, one price
Identical earbuds inside. The only difference is the finish, and the price is the same whichever you pick. Beige and White are genuinely different: the White is a cool bright white, the Beige a warm ivory that reads closer to cream in daylight.

BeigeWarm ivory, softer than the white

Bluetooth 6.0, and two devices at once
The 6.0 chip holds a steadier connection in the places that usually break one — a packed train carriage, a gym, a shopping centre — and sips less power doing it. It also pairs to two devices at the same time, so a call on your phone interrupts whatever your laptop was playing and hands the audio back afterwards.

Game mode
Low-latency mode drops the delay to roughly 70 milliseconds, which is enough for a mobile game to feel in step with what you are tapping. For competitive shooters, wired is still wired.
Touch controls and the app
Tap the stems for play, pause, track skip, calls and your voice assistant. The free SOUNDPEATS app adds EQ presets, a custom EQ and a control remap, and is where you switch LDAC and game mode on. The earbuds work perfectly well without ever installing it.

Calls
Four microphones with ENC filter wind and traffic out of your voice before it is sent, so you are intelligible on a windy footpath. Because the buds do not seal, you also hear your own voice normally and stop shouting — the thing sealed earbuds make everyone do.
Pairing takes about twenty seconds
Open the case next to your phone and they appear in the Bluetooth list the first time. After that they connect on their own when the lid opens. Put one back in the case and the music pauses.
What is in the box

Two earbuds, the charging case, a USB-C charging cable and the manual. No wall plug — use the one from your phone. No ear tips, because this design does not take them.

Common questions
Do these block out noise?
No. They reduce the noise the other person hears on a call, which is ENC. They do not have active noise cancelling, and because they do not seal your ear canal you will hear the room around you. That is deliberate — it is what makes them comfortable and safe to walk in — but if you want silence, these are the wrong earbuds.
Will they fall out when I run?
They are shaped to hook into the ear rather than grip the canal, and at 4 grams there is not much weight to shake loose. Ears differ, though. For contact sport or anything upside down, a sealed tip or an ear-hook design is the safer bet.
Can I use LDAC on an iPhone?
No. LDAC is an Android codec. An iPhone connects over AAC, which still sounds very good, but the Hi-Res part of this product does not apply.
Why does the battery say 9 hours in one place and 5 in another?
Because it depends on the codec. 9 hours is AAC, 8 is SBC and 5 is LDAC. We would rather print all three than only the flattering one.
Are there different sized ear tips?
There are no ear tips at all. Nothing goes into the canal, so there is nothing to size and nothing to lose.
Can I wear one on its own?
Yes, either side works alone — useful for calls when you want one ear free.
Can I wear them in the shower or swimming?
No. IPX5 covers sweat and rain, not submersion, and the charging case has no rating at all. Do not put a wet earbud back into the case.
Is a charging plug included?
No. A USB-C cable is in the box; use any phone charger or a laptop port.
