VATOS · Set of 2 players

Two blasters, two vests, and a 40-metre range that turns the whole backyard into the playing field. It scores itself on an LED display, charges from one cable, and runs on infrared rather than anything that could hurt an eye.

Built for outside, not the hallway

Most laser tag sets stop working past about ten metres, which is why they end up being played indoors and lose their appeal in a weekend. This one carries 131 feet — roughly 40 metres. That is the length of a backyard, a park clearing or a cul-de-sac, so there is room to actually take cover, flank and run.

It keeps score for you

Every blaster and every vest carries an LED display showing remaining lives and team data, synchronised over 2.4GHz. Nobody has to argue about who hit whom, and nobody has to keep count — which is usually where the game falls apart.

Gun vs Gun Straight duel. Hits register on the blaster itself.
Gun vs Vest Team play. The vest takes the hit, and the vest colour sets the team.
Four teams Choose a team colour per vest and play two-a-side or free-for-all.

No batteries to buy, ever

This is the part parents care about. The blasters and vests are rechargeable and come with a 4-in-1 charging cable that charges all four pieces at the same time. One charge is good for roughly eight games. There is no hunting through the drawer for AA batteries on Christmas morning, and nothing to replace later.

Safe to point at each other

Despite the name, there is no laser involved. The set uses infrared — the same harmless signal as a television remote — so it is safe for children to aim at one another, which is rather the point of the game.

Add a second set for four players

The sets are compatible with each other. Buy a second identical set and you have a four-player game with no extra configuration; buy more and there is no stated limit. It is a sensible way to start at two players and grow it for a birthday party later.

Common questions

Does it need batteries?
No. Everything is rechargeable and the 4-in-1 cable charges all four pieces at once. One charge lasts about eight games.
Is it safe for children?
Yes. It uses infrared, the same signal as a TV remote, not a laser. It is designed to be aimed at other players.
How far does it actually reach?
About 40 metres, which is why it works properly outdoors. Most two-player sets manage a fraction of that.
Can we play with more than two people?
Yes. Additional VATOS sets of the same model pair with this one, so a second set gives you four players.
What age is it best for?
Six and up. The blasters are light enough for younger children and the game holds up for teenagers and adults, which is what makes it work at family gatherings.
Can it be played indoors?
Yes, though the range is better used outside. Indoors it works well down hallways and across larger rooms.
Delivery and returns?
Free delivery Australia-wide, tracked. Returns within 30 days, free on faulty items.
